Assistant Engineering Manager<\/a><\/h4>\nAbout the Opportunity\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\nJacobs is currently recruiting for an Assistant Engineering Manager to join our Nuclear Power and Engineering Technical Services (NPETS) business. \u00a0NPETS is entering an exciting phase of opportunity by supporting our key client\u2019s UK nuclear fleet through a business transformation, and by supporting new small modular reactor developers. Our work is varied, covering New Build, Generation, Life Extension, and Defueling, and our capabilities are in demand across the nuclear sector.<\/p>\n

The UK\u2019s five operating stations deliver 16% of the UK\u2019s power, and it takes a large team delivering 100\u2019s of projects to enable these stations to continue generating as well as defuel the three stations that have ceased operation \u2013 \u00a0and that\u2019s a lot of plates.<\/p>\n
Assistant Engineering Manager<\/a><\/h4>\nAnd this is where you come in \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\nYour role will be to support the Engineering Manager with multi-discipline engineering teams to deliver complex engineering solutions to time, cost and quality on projects of varying sizes. If you\u2019re familiar with project delivery, you\u2019ll know that they have plenty of moving parts and complexity, which is why you\u2019ll be working alongside our Operations Managers and with our Framework Service team too.<\/p>\n

\n- Marshall projects through an investment delivery process, from FEED to solution delivery.<\/li>\n
- Act as Architect Engineer on small to medium projects, taking ownership of technical challenges, and managing stakeholders and interfaces in order to implement technical solutions.<\/li>\n
- Involvement in all parts of a typical project lifecycle, including bidding, definition of requirements, design and implementation, and delivery of commissioned systems ready to support the needs of our clients.<\/li>\n
- Work alongside Project Managers to support change control and identification and control of technical risks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Assistant Engineering Manager<\/a><\/h4>\nHere\u2019s what you\u2019ll need<\/b>:<\/p>\n\n- Self-starter with a professional leadership approach and a technical background<\/li>\n
- Some experience working within or managing multidiscipline teams<\/li>\n
- Proven experience of engineering delivery within a nuclear or highly regulated environment<\/li>\n
- Motivated team member with the ability to work to deadlines and communicate project progress<\/li>\n
- Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders<\/li>\n
- Experience of executing project tasks against relevant codes, standards, and best practices<\/li>\n
- High level knowledge of Project Management principles and experience of handling change control and making informed judgements to control or mitigate project risks<\/li>\n
- Committed to Continuous Professional Development of self and others<\/li>\n
- Degree qualified or equivalent (e.g. HNC\/HND with significant experience) in engineering discipline with extensive design experience<\/li>\n
- Chartered Engineer, or similar demonstrable experience<\/li>\n
- A Mechanical, Process, civil or EC&I background is essential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
