The shift schedule includes an 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shift on a rotational or swing schedule (i.e., seven-day swing and/or rotational). Position Summary:

Production Specialist Decatur, IL

This is an entry-level position in a union workforce. Laborer is expected to perform a variety of jobs, tasks or duties as assigned. Laborer must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Job Responsibilities:

Job duties may include, but are not limited to: general housekeeping, clean-up, sweeping, vacuuming, painting, oiling, greasing, lubricating, sample retrieval, power washing, lifting, hauling items up and down stairs, stacking or dumping 55 lb. bags, shoveling dry materials, and various warehouse duties such as driving a fork truck.
Troubleshooting and minor repairs of equipment is expected.
The Laborer must be capable of learning and qualifying on additional positions such as Utility, Operator II and Operator I in order to step up and fill in on an as needed basis.
Must have a safe working attitude, be an active participant in safety programs, learn and follow written rules and procedures, and produce accurate documentation.
Laborers must have the ability to climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, work with heights, and work in hot and cold temperatures and a dusty environment.
Laborers must show a willingness to learn functions outside of the general laborer duties to help fill in for temporary or permanent vacancies in other jobs
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Exhibit regular and prompt attendance and maintain attendance record in accordance with company policy
Experience in production and/or similar military environment (preferred)
Must be 18 years or older
Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Ability to understand and effectively communicate in English (verbal/written)
High School diploma or equivalent

Ability to move about or to a work site by ascending/descending stairs, bending, kneeling and prolonged periods of standing and sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, or squatting frequently Ability to operate equipment or machinery that may be located at different heights; may require work on ladders, scaffolding or other work at heights or in confined spaces
Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 55 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds overhead
Requires ability and willingness to wear respirators
Ability to walk up to two (2) miles during the course of a workday over uneven ground surfaces
