Our company’s success is largely due to the contributions made by our global tax controversy team. We are looking for a Global Controversy Analyst or Senior Analyst to work under the Senior Manager, Global Tax Controversy. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about American tax law and procedure. Experience with transfer pricing or foreign tax controversies (including experience in competent authority negotiations) is an asset, but there will be significant opportunities to acquire knowledge and exposure to foreign tax law and procedure over time. Experience with tax litigation is also a plus.

You will be in charge of coordinating our responses to federal audits in the United States, collaborating with colleagues worldwide on foreign audits, and researching legal and tax issues in this position. Additionally, you will collaborate and communicate with cross-functional business partners from a variety of backgrounds and levels of experience while developing tax controversy strategies. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, able to analyze difficult substantive and procedural tax questions, and able to effectively communicate with representatives of the tax authority as well as internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities Include conducting research on intricate tax issues, creating technical documentation, assisting with specialized projects, and providing assistance as required.
Assist with the day-to-day operations of U.S. federal income tax audits, litigation, and procedures for settling disputes.
Examine and coordinate responses to taxing authorities’ Requests for Information and Information Documents.
Regularly interact with colleagues in tax to comprehend, discuss, and assist in resolving complex tax issues.
Contribute to the upkeep of tools that track and quantify global audit positions as well as global tax risk.
Ensure that tax audit resolution and information flow are complete and timely.
To back up your positions on tax returns, work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and conduct research on a wide range of US, international, and transfer pricing tax issues.
What matters is administrative support for the global tax dispute.

Qualifications Juris Doctor (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in accounting with five years or more of relevant work experience at a law firm, public accounting firm, or corporate tax department, or a combination of graduate education and work experience (for instance, a JD with three years of work experience at a law firm).

Experience with U.S. controversy matters, such as audits; experience with filed litigation; experience with foreign tax controversies; and experience with any of the IRS Independent Office of Appeals, competent authority (APAs or MAPs).
ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce high-quality output in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
solid comprehension of the fundamentals of corporate income tax in the United States and abroad.
