Qualities We’re Looking For Fundamentals of Accounting: We’re looking for someone with at least six years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in either finance or accounting. Although it is not required, it is preferred that you are working toward or have already obtained a post-graduate degree or a CPA license. We take great pride in producing high-quality work, checking important numbers and formulas for accuracy, and using spreadsheets and system data to reconcile accounts and solve questions and problems; We would like our accountants to enjoy working with Excel pivot tables and not be intimidated by large data sets.

Enthusiasm and quick learning: Enthusiasm for creating new accounting systems and enhancing those that are already in place. Although you may not have worked in the content accounting industry, prior experience with contract review (revenue, leases, or other complex documents), data entry and analysis, research, and other problem-solving tasks is helpful. If you are enthusiastic about the position and able to learn quickly, industry experience in a studio setting is a plus but is not required.

More Information/Responsibilities Based in our Hollywood office and accountable to the Content Accounting senior management team
a member of the team in charge of ensuring that the company’s content commitments, assets (capitalization), liabilities (payments), and expenses (amortization) are all financially sound.
CFO metrics, monthly accounting entries, reconciliations, and other ad hoc analyses should all be prepared and reviewed.
Management and accounting of content license agreements and produced shows in proprietary systems, with a focus on ensuring proper accounting by researching guidance.
Own projects like the review of accounting policies, risk analysis, and SOX controls, design and testing of finance systems, metrics dashboards, and reporting, and other process enhancements.
Manage relationships across functional lines with teams outside of Content Accounting, such as finance and content acquisition teams.
