Humana Healthy Horizons is seeking an Executive Assistant (Administrative Assistant 2) who will follow established procedures and guidelines to provide timely and effective secretarial support to an office, business unit, department, or other organization.

The Executive Assistant (Administrative Assistant 2) answers telephones, screens calls, and takes messages so callers/visitors are attended to promptly, courteously, and accurately.

The Executive Assistant (Administrative Assistant 2) assumes ownership and leads advanced and highly specialized administrative/operational/customer support duties that require independent initiative and judgment.

Executive Assistant (Medicaid)
  • Creates a variety of material (e.g., correspondence, invoices, contracts, meeting minutes, reports, speeches, and presentations) using word processing, PowerPoint presentation, graphics, and spreadsheet software.
  • Coordinates internal and external meetings which may involve scheduling meeting times, making travel arrangements for attendees, and ensuring that various meeting amenities are available.
  • Manages the appointments and schedules of Medicaid leadership team.
  • Decisions are regarding the daily priorities for an administrative work group and/or external vendors including coordinating work activities and monitoring progress towards schedules/goals, and often oversees work of others and/or is the primary administrative owner of a main process, program, product, or technology.
  • Works within broad guidelines with little oversight.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous Administrative support experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, think on your feet and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail: ability to manage many details related to coordinating calendars and schedules, follow-up requests, travel-related planning, etc.
  • Professional image: ability to build strong working relationships with people, internally and externally.
  • Emotional intelligence: demonstrated ability to manage self around others and in difficult situations, always remaining in control and professional.
  • Organized: ability to balance multiple initiatives. ability to manage multiple or competing priorities and prioritize workload.
  • Forward-thinking: ability to be pro-active and expect the unexpected.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with online research a plus.

Additional Information

  • Workstyle:  Hybrid Office – Humana’s Boy Scout office location in Tampa, FL will be the associate’s primary work location where the majority of their work week will be spent, but they will work occasionally from home to support focus work and work/life balance needs.
  • Typical Workdays: Monday – Friday; Business Hours.
  • Travel:  Limited but possibly up to 5%.

Work at Home Criteria

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
