Customer Service Representative

Customer Service Representative performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, and record-keeping. Ensure a culture of safety throughout the site by adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Aids the sales and accounting staff.

Scope of the Position:

Responsible for handling front office reception and administration duties, including greeting guests and answering phones, handling company inquiries, and sorting and distributing mail. Process orders and estimates. Taking payments. Coordinating shipping. Process Returns.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintains office procedures and assists with administrative tasks

2. Answers central telephone system and directs calls accordingly

3. Receives the public and answers questions, in person and by telephone; responds to inquiries from employees, and others and refers, when necessary, to the appropriate manager, co-worker, or department

4. Operates office machines and computers as required Duplicates and distributes materials as necessary

5. Composes, types and edits correspondence, reports, memorandum sales orders, estimates, bill of ladings, labels, and other material

6. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service

7. Ensure that programs regarding safety and security are always followed

8. Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Qualifications

Specifications of the Position:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
  • Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
  • Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with enough grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
  • Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and teammate support needs
  • Mathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solving
  • Basic to intermediate computer operation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
